Magical…

Magical was the one word that some Ije Live guests used to describe their experience.

Huge thanks to the Canada Council for the Arts for the immense support for this project. I also thank everyone who bought tickets. We were not only able to pay for the concert hall but we were also able to commit a small percentage of income from ticket sales to an orphanage. Thank you for Gathering with me and for coming along on this journey.

Ije Live with Perpie: The Gathering

"Ije" is an Igbo-Nigerian word for 'Journey'. Ije Live started out as a simple idea to recreate and re-live beautiful childhood community experience through music. It has become a safe and musically soulful space for uplifting and refreshing in community. It features original music, storytelling and more wholesome expressions of Perpie's art.

Featuring:

Calgary Jazz Orchestra, Elevate Kids Choir & Digba Ogunbiyi

“When we gather together in the moonlit village ground, it is not because of the moon. Every man can see it in his own compound. We come together because it is good for kinsmen to do so.”

— Chinua Achebe — from Things Fall Apart (The African Trilogy, #1)
