The Landing (1803) named YYC Music Award’s Jazz Recording of the Year 2023

Sponsored by Steinway Piano Gallery and presented by Manager at Steinway - Kevin Anderson, The Landing (1803), leading track from the Ije-Awele album was named Jazz Recording of the year 2023 and I feel really honoured.

This would be my very first music specific award and I am so grateful that this composition gets the attention it needs.

This track was recorded at the OCL Studio in Chestemere, with Spencer Cheyne as both the recording and the mixing engineer.

I express my deepest gratitude and love for the team of musicians that I was privileged to record this with - Sheldon Zandboer, Brendan Rothwell, Neil Mcvey, Luis Tovar, Robbin Harris and Odum Abekah.
